Anura Bandara Dahanayaka is a celebrated Sri Lankan artist whose work beautifully reflects the essence of rural life and cultural heritage. A self-taught painter with roots in Kandy, Anura later began his artistic journey at Vibhavi fine art school and was fortunate to learn the fundamentals of painting under the guidance of Prof. Chandragupta Thenuwara. This early exposure shaped his deep appreciation for tradition, yet his style remains uniquely his own.

Specializing in watercolors and oils, Anura’s paintings vividly portray farmers, laborers, fisherfolk, and village scenes—stories of resilience, simplicity, and harmony with nature. His art is a tribute to the dignity of work and the beauty of everyday life, often highlighting contrasts between tradition and modernity.
