About

Somadeeptha Wimalasiri is a talented Sri Lankan artist who studied at Gnanodaya Vidyalaya, Kalutara. He learned the art of painting under the guidance of the renowned Kalasoori Mr. Jayasiri Semage, with whom he also worked at the Mangala Vihara Temple in Singapore.

Exhibitions & Achievements

In 1999, he participated in the Expo painting exhibition held in Kunming, China. He later traveled to Nepal with Mr. Semage to work on paintings at the Lumbini Sri Lanka Temple.

One of his paintings is proudly displayed at the Russian Embassy in Moscow. He was also the artist behind the murals and artwork at Barberyn Ayurveda Hospital in Beruwala.

Additionally, he painted the ceiling of the Sri Subramanium Kovil in Colombo and contributed to the artwork at Bellanwila Divulapitiya Temple alongside Mr. Semage. He also completed the ceiling and Sripada paintings at Dehiwala Hathbodhi Viharaya and created several pieces for the reception area of Euro Lanka Hotel in Bambalapitiya, Colombo.
